FreePoint Announces the Appointment of Two New Board Members

London, Ontario – FreePoint Technologies, a leader in the manufacturing machine monitoring and data insights industry, today announced the appointment of two new members to the board of directors: Sophear Net and Rick Jankura. This brings the number of board members to five.

“I am very pleased to welcome Sophear Net and Rick Jankura to the FreePoint board”, said Dave Eto, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Sophear and Rick are distinguished executives with valuable, direct experiences in manufacturing and manufacturing technologies. We look forward to their strategic contributions to FreePoint as the company continues its high growth trajectory.”

Sophear Net is an experienced technology executive with extensive industry experience in electronics, software development, project management, and renewable energy. Sophear is a Professional Engineer and holds an MBA. Previously, Sophear was the CTO of FreePoint and the company is very pleased to have her involved now in the role of Board Director.

Rick Jankura brings a wealth of expertise and industry experience to the FreePoint Board. Rick is a Chartered Professional Accountant and senior executive with a diverse range of executive management experience in both private and public companies and board of director experience in private businesses and public sector entities. He has held senior roles with companies in a broad range of industries including banking, venture capital, aviation, manufacturing and health care. Rick will assume the role of Chair of the Governance and Audit Committee.

FreePoint – Year in Review

With the help of our partners, clients and employees, 2020 has been a year of change and growth for FreePoint Technologies. As we approach the end of the year, we like to reflect on our biggest accomplishments as well as the individuals that made them possible.

2020 started with a bang as we released ShiftWorx Plus, a revolutionary addition to the ShiftWorx platform that drove end-to-end real time insight into every aspect of the manufacturing floor. ShiftWorx Plus unlocked manufacturing data related to:

Jobs, Parts, Work Orders
Scrap, Waste, SKUs
Operators, Team Leads, Supervisors

As demand for our ShiftWorx product suite grew, our custom software team shifted their focus to exclusively manufacturing. This was coupled with an acquisition of FreePoint’s non-manufacturing clients by Direct Impact Solutions who continued to serve the non-manufacturing CoreSolutions customers.

This renewed focus propelled significant growth and improvement in our cutting edge product offerings as we launched:

Like all businesses this year, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the COVID-19 pandemic. This presented unprecedented challenges and a changing work environment for manufacturers, as we saw production pauses and an increased focus on remote monitoring. As the manufacturing industry restarted, we saw strong manufacturers emerge from the pandemic stronger and with renewed commitment to IIoT technologies. Data collected during the pandemic revealed some very interesting observations and our own team transitioned to working remotely, which the majority continue to do today.

2020 brought new relationships and strategic partnerships with world class ERP and manufacturing solutions providers like MIE Solutions, 3IS, and CIMX. These partners align with our corporate vision of prioritizing deep technology-driven insight, technical expertise, and actionable data in an easily understood format to help manufacturers increase production capacity, enhance employee engagement, and ultimately drive sustainable growth.

2020 also saw us selected as Qualified Service Providers with Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) and has allowed us to work closely with many Ontario manufacturers through their Technology Assessment Program (TAP) and Grant.

It has been a very productive and exciting year for FreePoint Technologies. To our valued clients, loyal partners and dedicated employees, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to you for accompanying us on our continued journey.

FreePoint Named One of Manufacturing Technology Insights Top Industrial IoT Solution Providers of 2019

FreePoint Technologies is excited to announce that we have been named one of Manufacturing Technology Insights Top 10 Industrial IoT Solution Providers of 2019.

Manufacturing Technology Insights discussed how FreePoint is helping manufacturing organizations discover and achieve their true operational potential through IoT.

Referencing our ShiftWorx Platform, our CEO John Traynor explained how the “Visualization of real-time data triggers the Hawthorne Effect and supports collaboration among management and workers to use equipment for maximum efficiency.” As the article outlines, many manufacturers aren’t sure where to start with IoT, especially as they consider connecting new and old equipment. It is with great pride that we announce FreePoint Technologies has officially saved our clients more than forty-five million dollars (See the live counter). Providing our clients with better insight into their production processes has enabled them to increase efficiency as well as profitability, resulting in immense cost savings. To commemorate such a massive milestone, we wanted to look back on what got us to this point.

We started FreePoint with a simple idea: to connect people to machines, regardless of age—in order to help manufacturers prosper. In this pursuit, we have pioneered a method of non-invasively installing equipment that gives manufacturers more control over their process. By helping better connect people to their machines, we have done more than just save our clients money. In addition, we have also helped them recover more than eleven million minutes of valuable production time.

We have always been about building connections— between people, as well as machines. As we surpass forty-five million dollars saved, we want to thank everybody who has connected with us along the way. We could not have reached this milestone without your continued support and commitment.
