Hardware Breakdown

Below is a breakdown of the individual hardware components to get started with FreePoint’s ShiftWorx solution for machine monitoring.

Machine Monitoring Transmitter FreePoint Technologies
Master Receiver machine monitoring freepoint technologies
Machine monitoring power supply freepoint technologies

FPT-4i Remote Transmitter

One needed per machine

Remote Transmitters are identified by the number of optically coupled inputs. They are available with 4 inputs. Remote transmitters send signals wirelessly using 2.4 GHz Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) Radio bands.

External Antenna with RF Connector

One needed per machine

The antenna has a magnetic base and must be mounted outside and on top of the machine cabinet.

Master

Receiver

One needed per factory

Receives the ISM radio bands.

Power Supply

AC Adapter

Optional

Connects the Remote Transmitter to a machine’s 24 V DC power AC power adapter

Wiring Kit for machine monitoring freepoint technologies
Machine monitoring cable equipment freepoint technologies

H608
(Non-invasive) Optional sensor

As required

FreePoint’s non-invasive sensor used to monitor a Spindle input.

Wiring Kit Option A
(Connect to Machine Power)

Optional

Wiring kit option used to expedite the installation process using the machine’s 24 VDC power supply.

Wiring Kit Option B
(Connect through DC Power)

Optional

Wiring kit option used to expedite the installation process using the supplied Power Supply AC adapter.

USB Mini-B

Cable

One needed per factory

Connects the Master Receiver to a PC with CellMonitor thereby enabling the transmission of information to the cloud using an internet connection.

Connecting Multiple Machines

FreePoint makes connecting the entire shop floor simple.

Freepoint technologies sales schematic

Each machine will have their own FreePoint Remote Transmitter. These transmitters send signals wirelessly using 2.4 GHz Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) Radio bands that are recognized by the Master Receiver.

The Master Receiver connects to a Windows personal computer (PC) or laptop using a  USB Mini-B Cable to receive input signals from the Remote Transmitter. This data is transmitted to ShiftWorx in the cloud and enables factories to measure, analyze and share information about a machine.

It’s really that simple. Ready to get started?
